Really good book. I'm white but my wife is Puerto Rican and i want our son to know both cultures so whenever i find a book that will teach him something or is about Puerto Rico i tend to get it for him.. this book is really well written and my son really enjoyed the story as well.

I must admit that I was curious to see how the myth was portrayed. Would it be the kind of story that would. need an explanation before reading it to a child. I loved that it was written in such a way that it could be read as a bedtime story as well as individually. The illustrations were colorful as is the island. I would recommend this book to those of Puerto Rican heritage and those that are not

Love this! I’m an adult and didn’t know this story. I’m so happy to find a book like this to expose my son to his Puerto Rican culture. Keep them coming!

This book is part of the selected books for the curricular maps in the Puerto Rico Department of Education. As an English teacher, I had to buy it, since they do not provide the books. I read it to my second grade class and they loved it. Personally, I like it a lot too because of its great plot and illustrations. I recommend this great book as a great addition to any ESL library, to enrich its collection of Puertorrican stories.

Great story about how the island was created.

The art is beautiful and I thought it was a sweet store to read the little ones.

Easy to understand, beautiful illustrations. My children and my students loved it. It has a special place in our classroom library.

The book is beautifully illustrated and the story reflects the innocence and goodness of the Taino Indian and also "explains" how the beautiful Island was created. OM
