(My background involves reading many books on this subject and on other life choices, and writing about them, so I have a basis for evaluating what I read.)An absolutely excellent, very complete book for getting your health care (besides fatigue) in gear and fully implemented.It is a comprehensive overview book, with surprising depth in each relevant area.She didn't just write a book full of information, she wrote a book that clearly will lead you to get results. It is an excellent way to approach such life improvements!It's an action book, with specific actions suggested, after you take a look to see what is happening and what is needed. She takes you through the necessary process of understanding how things work and what has worked. Some of her descriptions on things from psychological processes to the various physical processes are the best I've seen to create good understanding for the layperson!I suggest that while you are reading it that you create a list of what to look at further or follow up on, highlighted what is relevant to your situation.By the time you finish that process and do the steps in the following list, you will end up providing yourself with explicit directions on "what to do when" you are tired and what to do ahead of time so that you don't even get tired..The process I recommend in order to "harvest" the information in this book is:1. Keep track (and highlight relevant sentences) of what might apply to you.2. Do the (great) 7 day diary/monitoring exercise. Besides entering ratings in the spaces provided, I'd recommend that you keep a running dialogue of observations as you go through the 7 days, about how you felt, what made you feel better, what made you feel worse (if you felt tired, particularly note that down and notice what happened immediately before it). 2A. List and do each of the specific things she recommends (at least for the 7 days!).3. Do the "make sense of your symptoms" exercise - use the checklist of your symptoms, all laid out for you! (And each part shows the links to the chapter that is relevant.)4. Select some of the "quick tips" she suggests and beware of the "medications that can make you tired"!5. Consider the energy-boosting supplements6. Do as she says and take the checklists and filled out forms to your doctor to "perfect" the process and do any necessary tests (that she recommends, specific to what you are experiencing).Though I've already written on my site about such things, I added a few of hers to my repertoire. Also, she explained some things in such a way that I thought of and immediately (today) implemented 2 strategies based on the clarity she added.As you might guess, I wholeheartedly recommend that you buy this book! I bought this after seeing a TV news segment with the author; neither on TV nor on Amazon's description does it mention that when you start reading, it's solely discussing women's fatigue (and in the word "women" present in about 1/2 of all sentences) Uh, men get tired too. I'm only partway into the book, may edit the review if the latter parts are different.EDIT: I got through about 150 pages and gave up; no improvement. Review remains at two stars.Basically: Eat right, exercise right, get some sleep, get checked out for any diseases. There -- I saved you eighteen dollars.

There was no real "break though" just some basic common sense stuff. Nothing new or really helpful for me.

Although the book addresses women younger than I with husband, children and job, I still have found things to try as I've read. I'm not finished yet, but I've dropped a couple prescription and so far no harm but monitoring and I'm adding some food to my menu all to try her early ideas. I'm purposely reading slowly so I don't jump into too many changes too quickly. It's easy to recognize the areas that do not pertain to you individually and you can scan or even skip if you know it doesn't pertain. Otherwise, it's easy and interesting reading.

Interesting information but hardly a breakthrough. I did finish it and there is some generally useful information in here - such as stress management and getting enough sleep - but the word "breakthrough" in the title is definitely overmarketing.

The book was written for women, however it doesn't say that on the cover and Dr Phillips never indicated it during the television interview I watched her on . Once you start reading the first chapter, then you realize that its for the female "Exhaustion" problem.

I bought this book after hearing the author on TV. I did not realize it is intended for female readers. I read it anyway and did get some value from it (I am a guy). I bought another copy for my wife and she was delighted. If you have problems with finding enough energy to get through the day you may profit from reading this book.

Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone SmarterLeadershipMuch of what constitutes good leadership can be summarized in two words: respect and selflessness.How we relate to those two words will determine how we lead. Consider two assumptions that lie at the opposite ends of the spectrum:• Really intelligent people are a rare breed and I am one of the few really smart people. People will never be able to figure things out without me. I need to have all the answers.• Smart people are everywhere and will figure things out and get even smarter in the process. My job is to ask the right questions.What you believe has a big impact on the performance, engagement, loyalty and the transparency you find with those you lead and interact with. In Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter, authors Liz Wiseman and Greg McKeown refer to those with the mindset represented by the first assumption as Diminshers and those with the mindset represented by the second assumption as Multipliers. It explains why some leaders create intelligence around them, while others diminish it.The value of Multipliers is that is shows what these assumptions about people look like in practice and how they are reflected in your behavior. For them to look smart, other people had to end up looking dumb.” In short, Diminishers are absorbed in their own intelligence, stifle others, and deplete the organization of crucial intelligence and capability.Multipliers get more done by leveraging (using more) of the intelligence and capabilities of the people around them. They respect others. “Multipliers are leaders who look beyond their own genius and focus their energy on extracting and extending the genius of others.” These are not “feel good” leaders. “They are tough and exacting managers who see a lot of capacity in others and want to utilize that potential to the fullest.”The authors have identified five key behaviors or disciplines that distinguish Multipliers from Diminishers. You are not either/or but are somewhere along a continuum. These are all learned behaviors and have everything to do with how you view people. We don’t have to be great in all disciplines to be a Multiplier, but we have to be at least neutral in those disciplines we struggle with.

Seeing as I've read this three times, I can't believe I haven't written a review yet. No exaggeration, this book can be a life-changer both at work and in your personal life. I admit that the first time I read it I thought OK, this is so clear as to be obvious; I've seen these types of people for years at work. But so what? I never thought it through and Liz has done the research so my anecdotal evidence, not worth much, is supplanted by the real thing. Chapter by chapter, the concepts were illuminated with great examples and stories. This is no flavor of the month, these are concepts that can be used easily at work. And if applied, they work. I can attest to that. I also recommend going to the book's website for more tools. I took their test to see if I was what Liz calls an "accidental diminisher" (diminishers being the opposite of multipliers), and to my dismay I had several of the traits. I was so sure I wouldn't, but the explanation and analysis made sense to me. I teach a college course in business management and I'm now using this book as required reading. It's astounding how quickly the students grasp the multiplier concept and use it in their analyses of case studies and current business news.

It's really an introduction to starting to think of human potential in a new way. I'm glad my friend recommended this to me, and I'm going to recommend it to a lot more people.I think the author reads the Audible version, and I love her tone. It's conversational enough to feel friendly, but she still speaks with the authority of someone who has invested in the work and believes it.
