The title of this book is The Legacy Era and it gives you the option of carrying on the names of famous players in the Star Wars universe.As I was browsing the list of available Legacies I was shocked to find one of the biggest contributors in the SW universe had been omitted. Lando Calrissian double-crossed Vader at Cloud City, helped Chewbacca and Leia escape from the Empire, infiltrated Jabba's Palace, became a General in the Rebellion army, and destroyed the 2nd Death Star but yet is not good enough to receive a Legacy in this book?? Nien Nunb has a Legacy and he was the co-pilot! Greedo has a Legacy! Really? Greedo? He was in the film for all of 2 minutes at the most.I double and triple checked this book but no Calrissian Legacy. Why such an egregious error by Wizards?

The writing and ideas seem hasty and slipshod. Not recommended unless you just want a few new ideas. Don't buy it at full price.

Again, USPS employee left outside my door for it to be stolen and I never got to enjoy it with my gamers.

This product has an awesome cover, and the inside definetely matches it. Along with a small selection of new character options and new prestige classes (namely, the Imperial Knight), this book is mostly fluff text and a few NPCs to put into your game.The next section may enrage any hardcore Legacy fans, but I feel its neccessary to gain full insight into the campaign setting.This is based in the Legacy era, which takes place 130(?) years after the Battle of Yavin. This means that the Galactic Alliance has both risen and fallen, same as the threat of the Yuuzan Vong and the New Jedi Order. The whole factor of non-movie storylines mean the story is more freeform for the casual Star Wars plan. That is probably its greatest strength.However, my biggest complaints as someone who has limited exposure to the Legacy storyline are as follows:-The exact same storyline is taking place. The empire is back in full swing. Nothing of use has happened as a result of Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance.-Limited exposure once again for anybody to the Jedi Order. Granted it is more prominent than it was in the dark times, but the fact is we really don't need more than one "Jedi are in Exile" campaign setting in our library.-Every single antagonist has a lightsaber!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!If you are a fan of the Legacy era, buy this book now. It's on the cheap and is a good supplement if you ignore the gimmickiness of the arsenal of enemies.

For fans of both Star Wars: Legacy and the role-playing game, this campaign guide is a great resource. With plenty of new material beyond the comics, it also serves as a good resource for the era itself. My only disappointments are minor: Bantha Rawk's build seems inappropriate considering his back story and demonstrated abilities, and no inclusion of stats for Force-ghost Luke. The Legacy Destiny option is in a word, sweet. The art varies throughout between decent and amazing, so visual appeal is there as well.

This book takes into consideration that you are fairly aware of what the Legacy Era timeline actually is rather than going into a whole lot of detail regarding where it is, but other than that, I found it to be a well put together, well written book with plenty of crunch.I only wish they would continue with the theme used in Scum and Villiany with the short adventures int he back.

I got this hoping to get stats for the Tusken Raider race. There are no stats for the Tusken raider race in this book. Lots of other good stats.

I've seen others mention a lack of Lando legacy however, given the dynamic of the book a creative player and storyteller could come to an agreement to create one. Though, one of the Legacies listed by all available material would not be as listed, viz the Solo Legacy would either be Hapan Royal or Fel Imperial family, end spoiler. As for the rest the book will need supplimented with at least the core from this producer as your character set-up does run differently from the old West-End Games books, Dark Empire Sourcebook and the System present here are almost in a different language but, with Legacy Era Guide with the suppliment of the core book it won't take long to get a good start to a rich character. No faults here from the seller it just seems in need of an update from the publisher to correct.

Not what I expexted. As a recent owner of a Galaxy 7, I felt I needed some help. I don't like going to the phone store because I usually wait quite a while for help and when I do get someone to help they blast through the details and I walk away just as confused. Other Dummy books I've had were much more helpful. I would not recommend this book.

This book is not for dummies. You need to know a lot to be able to follow it. Totally unusable for me. Sorry I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S7 For Dummies. Money wasted. Purchased the Samsung Galaxy S7 For Seniors. It is much better.

This book is very well written and easy to understand without being condescending. As a former library tech, I judge books by their indexes, and this one is super! Easy to find what you need, makes sense and doesn't use needless techy language. Simple steps with simple illustrations to guide you. AND the fact that the book is specific to the exact model of phone is key. You are not in a general beginner's class, but learning what and how for your device. You are also free to pick and choose chapters of interest, and learn other things later - the beauty of a book!

The Galaxy S7 is my first smart phone, so maybe I'm behind the times, but I think the author expected you to know some basics on how smart phones work. My smart phone options did not match the options in the book.

I have in these past years become technically overwhelmed, so this is helpful for me in the use of my cell phone to it's maximum!

Too wordy. Just wanted the how-to (steps 1, 2, 3, etc.) By the time I got to the end of the process I had forgotten the beginning.

My motto is you learn something new every day. So clearly you may know some of the information contained in the book The techy portion was not for me since I don't qualify to read those details however I think it would appeal to someone that wants to know the intricacies I am 65 years old and still require younger generation to assist me with functionalities. This has given me a little more education on S7 functions so I won't have to ask so often.

Well written & VERY informative, especially for us electronically challenged individuals. Definitely worth the money. Would buy again.

Mine finally came in today. It’s full of cultural themes, not just El Dia de los Muertos. There’s so many details and colors in every card! As a seasoned practitioner, I wouldn’t advise this for a beginners deck. If you are a collector as well as a reader, I would suggest buying 2 decks, as the material the cards are made with are very “cheap”. I hate to use that word, but I don’t believe these will hold up to years of use. They bend easily and are flimsy. I’m not impressed with the card materials, but the box they came in is very sturdy. The booklet that came with the deck (in the box also) is small and does not go into detail about the symbology depicted on each card, but it gives a brief vague interpretation.Pros: strong sturdy box and immaculate artworkCons: cards are thin and flimsy card stock

There is something about this Deck. I could get rid of all of my many tarot decks and just use this Deck. Amazingly accurate and I ordered an extra deck to keep for if it ever disappears. This Deck has supernatural energy.

Honestly, I have no words for how much I loved this deck. I connected to it immediately. The artwork is just superb. The card stock amazing. The quality is A++If you’re debating if it’s as good as it appears I am telling you it is. I was a bit scared it would feel cheap like the linestrider deck I bought before but it isn’t. This is a whole different level of quality. I can’t recommend it enough.

i was really excited for this deck to come out and waited for months for the limited edition version to be released. However; my pre order was cancelled due to lack of product in stock. This deck is just as gorgeous and i adore it but wonder why theres two 4 of cups printed on it..? the art work is a direct refelection of the majors and arcanas and remain true to the original waite deck!

Just received my much-anticipated deck. I love it! The illustrations are very cool. There is a lot of Aztec and Incan symbolism in the deck as well. The stock is not super thick, but the cards are very shiny and slick. If you collect Tarot decks, this is a must-have​!

The reason I like this deck is because it alternates between computer generated skulls, cartoon drawings, and genuinely inspired compositions of the characters and objects on the deck. Pro's: Full color and no border cards, really colorful, back of cards have thought put into them, packaging is unique. Gold foil reflective shiny stuff and a deck package where you just pop the top off, Cons: The vision of the whole deck is not very cohesive, and will not provide you will more detailed readings or put you in a different headpsace than other decks. Excited to look at other decks by fabio listrani.

Very powerful deck! Amazing colors and unique take on the imagery of the cards. Mostly true to RWS. The cards have an attitude of themselves. You will know when to stop shuffling them and manipulating them and set them down. I relate Goddess Kali to this deck, death and rebirth! My ONLY complaint, which pains me not to rate the full 5 stars, is that these are hard to shuffle. The card stock is too stiff which makes it difficult and uncomfortable to shuffle. Makes the deck taller, and hard to manipulate. I was doing the bridge as I was shuffling and my Strength card got bent 😓

I preordered these, and was very excited to get them, as it’s right up my alley! Beautiful cards! As you can see, I’ve attached several photos of some of my favorites from the deck. However, the cards are thinner than other decks I’ve handled, so I feel I have to be a bit more careful. All in all, I’m not disappointed!

I bought this for my sister who is started college this year, and I really wish I had had it when I was starting college! The book is fun but also keeps it real--I was really impressed by their treatment of very important (but sensitive) topics like dealing with sexual assault and mental health problems that are all-too-common on college campuses. The book literally answers every questions I would have wanted to know--everything from being in a sorority, dealing with professors and TAs, how to ace a test, etc. Highly recommend for incoming freshmen, but also older students--the book is full of resources and helpful tips to have on hand in ANY situation.

I read this book last night (free on Kindle Unlimited) and ordered it today for 4 high school grads that I coach. As a professor and social psychologist, I found the advice on a wide range of topics (e.g., how to stay safe on campus, how to talk to professors, how to study and manage time, how to navigate social media, how to apply for jobs and internships) to be accurate and on-target, and written in a style that will appeal to 18 year olds (i.e., informal and engaging, but not too “cutesy”). As someone who teaches human sexuality, I also appreciated the advice on navigating friendships, romantic relationships, and hookups (which is super important, but not something that most parents feel comfortable talking about); the information in these chapters was accurate, relevant, realistic, and not too preachy. My only qualm about the book is that it consistently presumed heterosexuality (e.g., referring to crushes as “boy toys” or “studs”, when it would have been just as easy to use more inclusive terminology or to acknowledge that some readers will have a same-sex crush), especially given research showing that women tend to be “sexually fluid” (or changing), especially in the college years (numbers are often underreported because of stigma, but it’s not unlikely that up to 10% of the readers of the book will have crushes on women). If you can get over that, the book is an easy read and a great resource for someone about to go off to college. One tip I would add: Take your own printer to college! In my experience, students who rely on campus printer labs are much more likely to turn in work late (or not at all) because they try to print at the last minute and run into problems (e.g., the server goes down, the printer lab is closed, there is a long line of students waiting); I’ve also seen that students with their own printers are much more likely to proofread printed versions of their work before turning it in, which results in a higher quality product (and consequently a higher grade).

As a senior in college, I already know a large amount of information provided in this book. BUT for an incoming college freshman, this book will give tons of helpful information that you won't get anywhere else! Most of what is in here I learned from friends and my peers around me over time. But for someone who is just starting out and doesn't know anything about the college world, this book is for you. As for college juniors and seniors, the last few chapters are extremely helpful. It gives you everything you need to know about how to apply for internships and how to make your online presence professional.

Absolutely loved this book! So well done and so helpful as I prepare for college!! Great tips on things I was super stressed about - like balancing work and fun and being safe without my parents around!

I was really excited to receive this book.It's well-written, accurate and answers all the questions you could possibly have for college. Whether you're a rising Freshman or a grad student, this is a great book.It answers questions that pertain to health, sex, scheduling, professors, dating, Greek life and so much more. I actually learned some of the information I read. I'm very happy I bought this book.I recommend it to high school students, college students and to parents looks for a gift for their high school student or graduating student.

In my opinion this was a total waste of money. The book would be a fraction of the size of they spent less time telling you how great the book is and more time getting to techniques. My grandsons kindergarten teacher recommended "Parenting with Love and Logic". In the first few minutes I had more help than in the first three chapters of the other book. Hope this helps you.

If you have children, you must have this book! It is so easy for kids to read and really makes an impression on how they can participate in a happy healthy home. It is critical that parents have the original book, 1-2-3 Magic and the workbook that goes with it as it gives tools that give life to the plan. We love it and after having the books for only a short time we are seeing amazing progress. Our kids, 9 & 10, devoured the book and have been willing to put it into practice. Get this and happy parenting!

One of my little elementary aged clients actually likes this book so much that she (voluntarily) grabs it to read when she's directed into "time-out." This is a GREAT companion book to 1-2-3 Magic that introduces kids to the concept of "time-out" and gets them to buy into it.

My child was excited about this program after reading this book. To get a kid excited about a discipline program seems like an oxymoron, but this book does a great job of catching their attention!! Would recommend it to anyone hoping for changes in both their own parenting and the kids behavior!! Make sure to pick up the parent version too!!

This book is wonderful for helping parents explain the new "rules" to children. It is told in a story book fashion that children can easily relate to. It was really a blessing to have. We've read it a few times and our son loves it. He reminds me if I deviate from the structure in the book!

I couldn't be happier with our results, after implementing 1-2-3 Magic into our home! Our five year old son went from a wild and rambunctious boy, to a well-mannered and hard working young boy (most of the time). He's proud of his hard work earning his stickers for allowance. He's proud of his improved behavior and feeling like a big boy.I love how it's improved how my husband and I react to his behavior. When he needs reminding I say "I'm following my rules. So good I couldn't put it down. I read it in a day. I didn't know anything about the Dutch hidden villages, so not only was the story page-turning but I learnt something new at the same time.What I have noticed with many Holocaust books / memoirs is the relentless recalling of facts and dates that bombard readers with unbearable horror. The Hidden Village, however, while just as true to the horrors of the Holocaust, allows the readers to not just be reminded of what has happened but to also be able to immerse themselves into a world of well written fiction.I was amazed by how many of the Dutch fought the Nazis in their own way. They were willing to make sacrifices for other people at the expense of their own daily needs. Very inspiring!I loved reading this intriguing historical story that took place in the Netherlands during World War 2. Imagine an actual hidden village!! The characters were well developed and the courage and depth of love they demonstrated kept my imagination soaring from beginning to end!Storytelling is of a superb quality, and she has the ability to bring vividly to life these very hard and brutal times in a clear fashion, as well as the atmosphere in which the Jews had to live in WWII, and all that in a gripping and heart-breaking way within this wonderful tale.I had heard that the Dutch population had made significant efforts to protect their Jewish neighbors but this is the first novel I have read to explore this history. About the Author

Imogen Matthews lives in Oxford, England and is the author of two romantic fiction e-novels. The Hidden Village is her first historical fiction novel. Born in Rijswijk, Holland, to a Dutch mother and English father, the family moved to England when Imogen was very young. She has always enjoyed holidays in Holland and since 1990, has gone regularly with her husband and two children to Nunspeet on the edge of the Veluwe woods. It was here that she discovered the story of the hidden village, and together with her mother’s vivid stories of life in WW2 Holland, she was inspired to write her next novel.

As a Dutchman, I am very familiar with circumstances and conditions during the war time. Although I was not born then, I was well educated in school, and heard many stories from my family and friends of the family who lived through it. My father hid in a haystack for a long time during the war. He was hungry and cold, hiding from the Germans. The books portrayal of food being loaded into vans to be taken to people hiding in the underground village is utterly ridiculous. There were severe shortages of food and other things. Gasoline was unavailable to most people. The Germans would notice vans being loaded full of food in broad daylight. People across the country were starving. The whole book is full of absurdities. In full disclosure, I read about halfway through the book, it was insulting and trivializing and I'd had enough. There was indeed a small underground community in the forest but it was hardly the easy existence that the author portrays, with reception rooms (seriously???), cake baking sessions (with ample flour and eggs!!!) and the like. It seems the author stumbled upon a historical fact, and used it to spin a cute story that is completely unrealistic. It offended me to have the author minimize the facts of the war time in order to write a fluffy story. People in in The Netherlands suffered mightily under the occupation. This should never be forgotten - or rewritten into a fantasy.

The strength, endurance, and generosity of the characters, which surely is an accurate depiction of the human nature of people caught up in desperate times, requires the readers avid and rapt loss of attention to their own environment. The Hidden Village by Imogen Matthews. This is a fictitious account of a hidden village that was actually created in Veluwe, a national park in Holland. During World War 11, a group of Jews hid from the Germans by living in underground huts in this village. They were helped by a group of men and women and children in the nearby village. This group of rescuers gathered food and other necessities for the hundreds of people who eventually lived in this hidden village. Imogen Matthews used archive materials, letters, photos, interviews, and a book called ‘Het Verscholen Dorp’ by A. Visser which was an account of this village. She also used this book as a way of writing down the stories her own mother told of the years spent in Holland during its occupation by the Germans. The result is a very unique look at this hidden village and the people who lived there and helped hide them.The story revolves around a Holland youth, Jan, and a Jewish girl, Sofie, along with her best friend Liesbeth, a Holland girl. Sofie was in school with Jan’s brother Oscar and her best friend Liesbeth. Sofie had a crush on Oscar and he had one on her. Liesbeth, who was more outgoing than Sofie, encouraged her to get to know Oscar better. Shortly after this, Sofie’s world collapsed when she was forced into hiding because she was Jewish. She was among the first to go to live n Berkenhout woods and the last to leave. Oscar had helped build the huts they were to live in and then was sent elsewhere to help. Liesbeth worked with the underground to get food for the Jews and helped keep Sofie’s spirits up as she was separated from her parents. Jan, Oscar’s little brother, ached to help but was continually thwarted from helping by his own father. Jan didn’t understand that his father was trying to protect him. However, a ten-year-old boy finds a way to get into trouble.The book is quite interesting and well-written. Knowing that Berkenhout did indeed exist as did the majority of the characters makes it even more interesting. It makes you wonder how many places like this existed throughout Europe and remain unknown to this day.

This is a compelling story about a village built by rebellious Dutch citizens to help hide their Jewish (or in other way dissident) neighbors and countrymen. Located deep in the Hoge Veluwe National Park, this village really did exist and several huts have been reconstructed in the original location.The author wrote her book after reading a non-fiction book about this village. However, her novel is not a rehashing of history, but a suspenseful and dramatic glimpse into the lives and inner thoughts of the villagers – both those being hidden and those helping them. The story takes us into their daily lives, scares, sicknesses, and ultimately their betrayal.It a well-written, moving story of courage, hope, and survival.My only criticism is that it ends quite abruptly. I would have liked to learn more about what happened to the characters after the war. Perhaps the author’s leaving room for a sequel?4.5 out of 5 stars

I really was caught up in this book and deeply involved with what was happening in this small town in Holland The bravery of all the Dutch people who fought to hide, nourish and protect their Jewish friends and neighbors is well documented in many books I've read. I had not heard of the hidden village before and it was very interesting. That interest came to an abrupt halt in the last part of the book. It would have been an extraordinary book if more had been written to explain the lives of the main characters after the war ended. A summary of a few sentences to each person left me feeling cheated..... I wanted to know what happened to them and their families. If there simply was no way to know......then tell the reader, don't just ignore family members and loved ones.

An excellent book. A unique and insightful set of observations about this extraordinary part of the world, currently so geopolitically tense.

Jamie has a completely personal, but well informed and integrated view of what she is looking at. Because she writes like an angel she can then bring it to us so freshly. If you havent already, get her other books!

The book was somewhat slow, but overall an interesting read. I felt there was an underlying orientalist bent towards women, even though it seems that the author's intention is to be as objective as possible. As another reviewer mentioned, it is important to remember this book describes a small subset of people in Pakistan.It is also interesting to note that the book was republished after 9/11, due to a surge of interest in learning about Islam and Muslims. I don't think it's a good book to read if that is your intention - there is the danger of extrapolating what you learn from this book to all Muslims. But I would recommend it to those who are already familiar with the region (Pakistan) or the religion, as it is likely to give you a new insight into the tremendous diversity within the Muslim community.

I've read several of Jamie's nature books but had not read this one. However, a new experience with Pakistani culture has prompted me to investigate this work of hers.

As a native of Pakistan who has lived in the U.S for over 25 years, I have always been interested in what Western writers are writing about Pakistan and people of Pakistan. I bought 2003 edition of this book last Christmas for a light reading. When I started to read it, I could not put it away. Jamie had visited the Northern Areas in early 1990's. She talks about not just beautiful landscaps but ordinary people. People she met during her travel to Gilgit and Skardu. "Gilgit going"! that's exactly what the locals with little English knowledge would say anywhere in Pakistan. She is not judgemental but paints a beautiful portraits of life in that part of the world. People might not have lots of luxuries but they are contended with what they have and show wonderful hospitality to visitors. She had lots of access to women in that part of world. It is nice to read a story of people beyond the prejudice which exists among the Western media. There are no Mullahs and no Talibans in this story. A young Western woman travels fearlessly in this distant, remote part of Pakistan. I have not seen most of these areas but found myself visiting these areas through this book. What's even more impressive that Jamie revisits the same areas 11 years later and meets many of those women again. Lots has changed since her last visit. Progress in terms of roads, electricity and internet has come in many areas but people are still the same. Kathleen Jamie's book is wonderful and I strongly recommend it to all. It is as if I was there visiting those beautiful areas for few days!
