My family and I enjoy this book. The pages are adorable!

I absolutely love this book, but it will be set aside for a very rainy or cold day because it is so very, very intricate. I would consider myself an advanced colorist, but every picture in this book deserves much time and attention. Like most of us, I'm not always in the mood to color something so intricate. When I am, this will be my go-to book.The pictures in this book are absolutely stunning. They will just take great time and care to color.I am waiting for the Chihuahua version to come out!

I already had the Yorkies Go Around the World and was enjoying it, so I had to get this one as a gift to let a friend of mine enjoy the fun, international scenes with the dogs. It's a great way to relax! Very fun images!

...I decided to buy this book. After all, the other Magic Lantern books were so well written and informative, I reasoned.I reasoned wrong! The writer clearly understands the many technical details of the SB-28, but utterly fails to communicate his knowledge in any remotely understandable way.A fine effort wasted, I'm afraid.

Do not believe the promises made in the opening pages of this book. They are unfulfilled. Despite early protestations that this book will be better than, and different from, the instruction manual -- it is barely more than a bad rehash of the instruction manual with confusing additional information thrown in.When the author asks that "due to constraints of time and cost" we should excuse the "artistic and aesthetic aspects" of his illustrations, we should sense that this was a 'quick and dirty' effort. Forget the "time and cost" for photography! How about investing some conceptual and organizational thought -- and concern for the reader? (Isn't that what we are paying for?) In fact, this looks so 'quick and dirty' that it seems like different people actually wrote different parts, with little communication, and with no visible editorial control. Furthermore, the illustrations are often unrelated to the text. When related, I have seen many illustrations elsewhere that illustrate the point in the text much better.The book contradicts itself in places. For example, on page 30 it is claimed that "the SB-28 uses a combined CONTROL OF flash energy via flash duration and FLASH OUTPUT ..." [emphasis, mine] and then on pg. 140 we read "To my knowledge, complex electronic CONTROL OF the actual FLASH OUTPUT is presently not used by any camera/autoflash mode ...". Since the context of these two sentences make it explicitly clear that the points being made are completely contradictory, one begins to lose faith in the veracity of other claims in the book.I read this book from cover-to-cover, twice, thinking it was my fault. What a waste of time! Even with my Ph.D. degree, I could make little sense of the author's intent. A bunch of facts thrown together and often repeated several times throughout the book, with little useful organization or explanation, poor illustrations, and no index. I found myself trying to re-write the book as I fought for understanding.You should not have to buy a book like this and then have to re-write it in order to understand it.Save your time and money.It gets one star, because I can't give zero stars!Do not be tempted by this bad apple from the (usually good) 'Magic Lantern' barrel.

I purchased this book with the hope that it would provide me with greater insight into using my SB-28. Ha. I don't think that I have ever come across a more confusing, ill-conceived book. It's enough to make one want to go back to flashcubes.The book is poorly organized--headings and topics pile on top of one another without purpose or reason--at least none that I can discern. The explanations often leave one hanging, longing for more detail or at least greater clarity. Frustrating? Let me tell you. I would definitely NOT recommend this book. I only give it one star because zero stars isn't an option.

I purchased the SB-28 flash in Switzerland and wanted a guide in the English language. I already had a fair understanding of the flash and the various modes, but I still had a few outstanding questions that I hoped this book could answer. The book just confused me and raised even more questions. The author's run-on sentences and poor grammar made for difficult reading and comprehension. The examples did a poor job of demonstrating the author's point and often had nothing to do with the text.Save your money and get your questions answered at the many online resources available. If you must have this book, I will sell you mine.

First, the book was supposed to be ready by March. Then, all through April it was still supposed to be ready by March. Now it's May, and the ad says "June 30th." I wouldn't trust that if I were you. The sad thing is, this book is really necessary.

Typical of Magic Lantern guides, this one does not disappoint. An excellent companion to the owner's manual, it also covers most of the capabilities of the predecessor flash units (SB-24, SB-25, SB-26) in Nikon's line of top flash units. Mr. Huber thoroughly details all of basic and advanced modes. He also includes a comprehensive review of the basics of electronic flash and gives recommendations on how to deal with specific situations.

Advice: Don't buy it! Cons: Confusing, less useful than the instruction manual

This is an important book that I'm glad has been made.I do bead work and the first part of the book I went to was Martha Berry's pages about bead work. Her words made me sad for all that has been lost because of the Trail of Tears. It gives me hope - because care of those traditions are being addressed, learned again and so many people want to learn MORE.This book has SO much. Though it's a bit dated now (there was an 'update' to it) the principles are undoubtedly tried and true. Though the things students are involved in and with these days are different - the fact is they are still people facing what all students face. Your mode may change- the message doesn't. The method may change but the principles don't. This is a great map for anyone interested in helping students follow Jesus or helping guide students to discover for themselves.

This is a resource you will use over and over again. I had to read it for school and I am not even in Youth Ministry but it will be in my resource tools. I loved it so much that I bought 2 copies for youth ministers at my church. It is easy to read with practical tips that you can actually implement. I am using some of them in my own ministry.

This book was such an eye opener. Coming into youth ministry I felt just liked he described. I loved it but felt like something was missing. We couldnt seem to get to the bottom of things and reading this book gave us such a huge eye opener that we put it into play right away and we have seen a change from everyone in the ministry. I recommend anyone that is in youth ministry or thinking about volunteering to read this book.

I've only been working with youths for a very short time and over the past couple of months...I've felt sort of hopeless as I lacked not only knowledge but the skills to help the youth department become better organized or well structured. Besides praying for guidance...I was also searching for a good source knowledge to help our short comings. From the moment I came in contact with this book I was very much impressed and I've since ordered 4 copies. I now believe that we're on our way to a better youth and youth related ministry. I will definitely recommend a copy to all Senior and youth pastors, leaders, volunteers/ helpers...even parents can benefit from reading a copy of this book.

Doug Fields is the BEST!!!! He gives real advice, that you will be able to incorporate. He knows how frustrating it can be when you have the best intentions and things do not go as planned ... because they never will with teenagers. Accept it and don't give up. What a difference he has made!

The Purpose-Driven Youth Ministry gives practical examples and thought-provoking insights into why we do what we do in youth ministry. Being able to recognize that some programs will work, others will not and must be discontinued was an eye-opener to me. Trying different things that work for your youth group at this time, is a concept that benefits the youth group as a whole, and thus, strengthens the gospel message.

Anyone going into the Youth ministry needs to read and own this book. If you are just going to work with youth you still need to read and own this book. It's very helpful giving you a guideline. I will warn you though that each youth ministry is different so Field's method may not work totally for you but you do need a purpose. Field's really should emphasis the fact that not all ministries are the same in fact no ministry is the same but he doesn't.

What a wonderful book to teach kids about prepositions! The ending is adorable. My son was surprised. We laughed. Every classroom should have this book! I loved how my older son explained to his little brother to think of prepositions like a bee in a hive. The bee can go in, out, under, over, above, around, etc. Very cute. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and was up until the small hours reading it. Anyone who has tried to make their living from working with horses knows how hard it can be, but very few equestrian novels actually take the time to realise this. In "Show Barn Blues" we meet a woman who has dedicated her life to horses, and is starting to wonder whether it has really been worthwhile. She still loves horses and riding, but is starting to lose some of the pleasure and passion that she first discovered as a child.Like all of Natalie's heroines, Grace is sometimes cranky and opinionated, but unlike Jules in "Ambition" (who I absolutely could not stand), Grace is a likeable character who makes good decisions. I suppose she is what Jules might one day be, if she can ever get that almighty chip off her shoulder! I see that a cross-over is coming up, and I hope that Grace is going to whip Jules well and truly into shape when that comes to pass.I couldn't put this book down, and I really enjoyed the cast, especially Kennedy and Anna. The characters' genuine love for their horses was felt throughout, and I loved the debate about the merits of trail riding vs arena riding. I know I would go mad if I was arena-bound, and my horse would too. Horses are not machines, and this book makes this point in a variety of ways. And I loved the pony appreciation - ponies are amazing, yet so often in American horse books they are treated as just being malicious or evil or only suitable for tiny children. You only have to look at the incredible ponies competing around the world to see that isn't true!

I read this one out of order, but enjoyed getting to know Grace, the older accomplished show barn owner featured in this novel. She's part of the Reinert Florida horse scene and she's an admirable woman. Show Barn Blues explores a few themes most horse owners will recognize: a childhood favorite pony, encroaching development, and balancing safety of an arena with the allure of hacking.Like all Reinert's novels, the characters are vivid and her descriptions of the Florida pines and atmosphere are transporting.

Telling it like it really is, so much of what happens in the horse show world is out of the spotlight. I love the authenticity Reinert brings to her stories and that she doesn't try to explain everything. She assumes her readers know a bit. This is my world and so I find this author's stories hit home again and again. Sometimes in ways I would least expect. Reinert blends humor and drama together to create a book hard to put down and definitely leaves you wanting more.

As a horse addict I often pick up horse related books but a good majority have left a bad taste in my mouth. I read a sample of this one on my Kindle app and was hooked! Finally, someone who really understands the horse world! Even down to the small details. This book got me interested in the author, I've read almost all her books now and not a single one disappoints! Fabulous work, I look forward to more horse adventures with Natalie Keller Reinert!

Loved this book! Very well written and describes florida and what is happening here to a T! I live in Ocala and use to show hunters so really enjoy a book that gets the facts right and is enjoyable to read!

Enjoyed reading this book, Natalie's knowledge of horses and ability to write about a horse is good! Wish she would keep writing more o this story line !!
