I do like the infused water recipes and a few others. Many are fish recipes and as I do not enjoy fish, shrimps, etc probably a quarter of the recipes are not for me. Overall it has much to offer if you are a less picky eater than I am. I am happy to have this book on hand for options and inspiration for the detox, but not thrilled.

Excellent overview of a brief but magnificent spectacle in a very specific region. I bought two more copies for my family. I know the author personally. He is an Eagle Scout, an adventurer, wonderful speaker, and an all-round nice guy.

Less than I expected ... lots of cut and paste info.

Pretty clear it was mass produced for many states. Some of the pages were titled for Nebraska. Newspapers were far more helpful.

This book is packed with the information you need for the eclipse. The author provides you with who, what, when where and why you could possibly need for the best experience. It includes locations to view the eclipse in Missouri with detailed information and history about a solar eclipse, where to best to observe and how to capture the event from the pro to the average amateur photographer. He has even provided details for the area from lodging to animals to the weather. If you want to know and experience this event and the where and how to see it in this area, this is the definitive book in a small package.

I am extremely excited for this amazing event. There are so many important safety rules to know, that the Missouri Guide will make it safe and fun. I thought the challenge of taking pictures would be extremely difficult and thought I might have to do extensive internet research, but there is a section all about lenses and filters and how to make sure you do not damage your camera. I feel like I am all set to be a part of history for my little corner of the US.

I REALLY wanted to like this. I took one look at it and realized it wasn't anything like his videos. His videos are hit and miss - some are funny, some miss the mark and he takes too long to get to the various punchlines. I love his sarcasm and the way he's able to make a point...hitting below the belt...while remaining in character. But the book somehow doesn't reflect his personality. It comes across dry and pedantic.

I just got this book yesterday and neglected my family to read it! I couldn't stop. His Religiously Unreligious chapter had me laughing until I cried. SO glad I got it. It's going to be the gift I give my friends this year. I hope he writes a non satirical one next. I appreciate his serious side as much as I do his comedy!

JP Sears is very funny but a whole book of basically the same thing keeps me from giving this more stars.

I love this guy. He delivers insightful commentary on the world with such subtle humor that some people can't tell if he is serious or not. Hint: this book is sarcasm at its finest. This book has really inspired my faith. After reading Lucia’s story, I️ sought to seek more information and have solidly renewed my faith in Catholicism. The Bible, the scholarly scrutiny its received, and other historical and archeological evidence prove Christ is the lord. For me though, I️ have questioned the authority of the Catholic Church. Although in the Bible Jesus clearly gives the keys to the kingdom of heaven to St. Peter (Matthew 16:9), I️ needed evidence that authority carried to the popes beyond St. Peter. The story of Fatima gave that to me. Believing that this miracle occurred (along with the evidence from our lady of Lourdes and Guadalupe) I️ am able to reconcile the evidence and believe that Catholicism is not just the religion of original church of Christ but that it still continues to be the church of Christ. I️ pray this book brings many more as much faith as it has to me. This book was not written as an apologetic to bring people to Catholicism but rather to evidence sister Lucia’s experience through her own words. My review above is my own experience from this book.

I have read a lot of these books about saints and prophets etc. And I always knew that they had incredible devotion and prayed for long hours. What this book brings out is the sacrifices that these three kids endured to help souls avoid hell. They donate all their pain (some self inflicted) and mistreatment and bad luck to heaven in order to buy salvation for souls that would have otherwise been sent to hell. They kind of enjoy punishing themselves as a sacrifice. Through the quotes you get a good feel for how Mary and Jesus look at things and what they expect from us. This book is a definite read.

Written with such simplicity and honesty, it was difficult for us to put the book down. We will now let our grown children experience it. We have known about the miracle of Fatima, but not all the detail from one who was present. The suffering endured by Jacinta, Francisco & Lucia from the treatment by adults and others who could not and would not believe was intense. Yet, these young children knew the truth so they accepted everything with dignity and maturity far beyond their years. They merely turned the other cheek, excepted the suffering foretold by the Blessed Mother and offered it up to the Heart of Jesus.For my wife and I who are believers, the story emphasized how little we understand what true suffering is and how far we still have to go in our walk with Christ.

Lucia was the oldest and most important of the three seers of Fatima. Jacinta and Francisco died within a short time after the 1917 visions. Lucia became a Carmelite nun and lived on until 2005. She had numerous additional visions of Jesus and Mary during her lifetime which impacted the Fatima message, to an increasingly depraved world, of repentance or consequent chastisement.She urgently implored 6 popes to accede to the Blessed Virgins request for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart to no avail. Their inexplicable conduct, to a large extent, led to World War II, the spread of communism, the Cold War and today's curse of radical Islam.Her memoirs also give a valuable insight into the additional papal intransigence in refusing to fully disclose the famous Third Secret of Fatima required to be disclosed in 1960.Likewise, she gives the most intimate details of the spiritual lives of the now-canonized Jacinta and Francisco. Her memoir is a must read for anyone concerned about the Fatima message and the cataclysmic prophecy clearly contained it it.

I have read a couple of other books on the story of Fatima. Those books gave a straight-forward account of the events in order of their occurrence. In this book, however, Lucia gave a number of memoirs as requested of her in order to describe what happened to Jacinta, Francisco and herself. She was to describe the events as well as the reactions of the children and their parents as a result of the miraculous appearances. With this book we have a much greater insight as to the nature of the miraculous appearances of both the angelic appearances and the appearances of the Blessed Virgin. I learned more about what actually happened during the apparitions, and also how much the children suffered through their devotion to Jesus and to the Blessed Virgin. One can come away from reading this book in total amazement as to their strong courage and devotion to God.

This account is touching in that it chronicles also her love for her cousins and the effect their passing had on her.This book brings the account "home" - I mean, with the other details added, it makes it more real for the rest of us. It has helped me to try harder to say the rosary daily once again...I recommend this book especially if you need your faith renewed and revitalized. Sister Lucia and her cousins Blessed Francisco and Blessed Jacinta show us that we need to be as children in our faith and devotion. In these times, we need to heed the Message even more than before.

When I visited Fatima in,2011, on my way to world youth day in Barcelona Spain, I bought this book and loved it. I loaned it to someone and never got it back. So I am very pleased to have it on my Kindle app. I have searched for this book for a couple of years. I'm not very tech savvy and it was only after 6 or 7 tried that appeared. I purchased it immediately, so as not to "lose" it again.

I red this book what now seems like a lifetime ago and it always been in my top 5 list of classics.With the movie scheduled to come out in a few days, my bookclub decided to read so we can compare and from page one I was sucked completely in all over again.There were a few things I felt different about this time around such as Gena and Qua's love. Back in the day I thought they were everything together, now with age and wisdom under my belt I found myself feeling more sorry for Gena than anything. True enough Qua took EXCEPTIONAL care of her but can we REALLY say he loved this girl?All in all it was still an amazing story of love, heartbreak and life being sooo blue. I absolutely can't wait to finish the trilogy AND see the movie. I'm praying that they do it justice but if they don't I won't even be mad because I can always come back to this book that will forever be classically TRUE TO THE GAMEMy name is K SherrieAnd I recommend this read

An interesting book, though it got a little snoozy about halfway through. Picked up again in the last quarter. I considered getting the second installment but it has something like 147 Kindle pages. Sorry but that’s like an elementary school book and I’m not paying $9.99 for something so short. Guess I’ll never find out what Gena stupidly blows all her money on next...

Memory lane I went. I decided to read the series because all I could remember was part 1. I loved me some sexy boss azz QUADIR! When Quadir and his boy Rik are out kickin it they meet Sahira and Gena. That electricity gets the best of them and Quadir and Gena make it happen. Sahira was looking for MR. Goodbar, disses Rik and experiences traged while Gena and Quadir are on vacation. Terri Woods wrote the hell out of this series. While Qua is walkin away from the game tragedy strikes and Gena's life will change forever. Haters going to hate and they truly are! We all know this D'Game is nasty and Rik, Rassun start seeing this especially with the Junior Mafia headed by Jerrell. This crew wants it all and will take anyone out in their way. Part 2 baby!

This book was not at all like I expected. When I read books I can visualize what's happening, with this book I couldn't do that. Everything was unrealistic. I started to get really bored. The writer jumped from one thing to the next, no consistency. And she killed off some characters way too soon. I didn't feel the love between the two main characters. This book just didn't do it for me. I hope the rescript it so the movie will be good, if not I'll be watching it on my firestick...

So, I read this series years ago. Recently seen the movie, hoping there will be a part 2 to the movie. I used to collect paperback books, stop for a while... But I am going to start back up again, starting with all the classics and guess what series will be the 1st to be added? True To The Game actually had me in tears the first time I read it. Idk why, but I was just emotionally attached to every character in the book. Love this series😘

This is a very good book. This book has so many characters. It was hard for me to keep up with who was friend or foe. Who was dirty. Who was whose girlfriend. Who was the enemy or the allie. I saw so much of my real life in this book when Gena's best friend died. I felt bad for Gena in the end. I really wanted to see her and Quadir be that power couple. I wasn't going to buy book 2 but I'm curious as to what's happening with Rik. What does Gena do with all the money? Is she going to find love again? Is Forty really going in to witness protection or is he going to seek revenge. Where is Cherelle and the baby??

I read this bcuz a movie was coming out, but I feel like I wasted my $$, I had to skip to the ending... not a fan

Always nice to read a classic. I remember reading this book over 15 yrs ago and was just as good and intetsting.
